Scholarly research in progress (SCRIP)
A peer-reviewed journal that allows students to convey findings with clarity and accuracy, advocate for patients and engage with the broader medical community.
About the journal
The Journal of Scholarly Research in Progress (SCRIP) is a peer-reviewed journal aimed at promoting and disseminating student scholarly activity at Geisinger College of Health Sciences. The journal also serves as a venue to support students’ development of scientific writing skills and writing confidence. SCRIP invites all college students to contribute their original research articles, reviews, short communications, letters, editorials, literature reviews, case reports and cover art for consideration.
Information for authors
SCRIP is now accepting submissions from all Geisinger College students for the 2024 edition. All submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed prior to a possible decision on acceptance for publication. Manuscripts must be submitted online and the corresponding author takes responsibility for the article during submission and peer review. The submission deadline is May 31, 2024.
Call for student editors
We are always looking for students with experience in research and/or a strong scientific background who want to learn more about editorial processing and the publication process. The role of the student editor is to assist in the writing, peer review, publication and editing of content for the SCRIP journal. It’s a great way to build your academic scholarship portfolio and to develop skills in the critical evaluation of manuscripts. Interested candidates may send their updated CV (including all relevant research and/or creative scholarship experience and all relevant writing, editing or peer critique experience) to scrip@geisinger.edu with the subject “Application for Student Editor.”
