Maternal-fetal medicine

Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine offers a four-week elective rotation in maternal-fetal medicine with the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in Danville, Pa. Our department provides care for female patients age 15 to 45. You’ll be integrated into our services by becoming active in the daily care of our patients. 

Geisinger offers a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship.

Goals and objectives

Specific educational goals include:

• Round on patients in the morning.
• Gain exposure to first- and second-trimester fetal screening.
• Provide genetic counseling and complete a genetic history.
• Gain exposure to the floor and be involved in procedures.
• Gain exposure to ultrasounds and consultations.
