Pediatric neurology
During the pediatric neurology rotation at Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, you’ll be assigned to work with a child neurologist for morning and afternoon clinics. You may also participate on rounding with the inpatient neurologist, as well as other procedural components, including EEG reading, EMG studies and sleep studies.
Goals and objectives
By the end of the rotation, you’ll understand basic physiology, evaluate patients in the neurology clinic and work to develop management plans for the following:
- Cerebral palsy
- Developmental disorders
- Muscular dystrophy/spinal muscular atrophy
- Tic disorders
- Epilepsy
- Migraines and headaches
- Sleep disorders
