Curriculum
As a Geisinger clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellow, you’ll evaluate and manage patients with arrhythmia-related conditions, including palpitations, syncope, atrial arrhythmias, ventricular arrhythmias and congestive heart failure.
You’ll report on each patient encounter to the supervising EP attending, who will help expand your knowledge and hone your skills.
You’ll complete your rotations at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville and at Geisinger’s northeast campuses – in six-month rotations. Fellows spend approximately one year at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, located about an hour from Danville. You’ll gain exposure to different techniques and an array of disease acuity and pathology.
Your clinical training in our electrophysiology fellowship will be complemented with didactics and case presentations.
Research
Geisinger has a strong tradition of innovation and research, and Geisinger Medical Center physicians and scholars are significant contributors to ongoing research in the field of cardiology.
As an electrophysiology fellow, you’re encouraged to get involved with clinical research projects that interest you, which can lead to conference presentations and publication in peer-reviewed journals. You’ll leave our program as a skilled clinician and thought leader among your colleagues in clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
