Congratulations on embarking on your new neurology residency program. This is a significant achievement, and I applaud you for your hard work, dedication and commitment to pursuing a career in this complex and rewarding field of medicine. The road ahead will undoubtedly be challenging. But with perseverance, a thirst for knowledge and a willingness to collaborate and learn from your peers, attending physicians and other healthcare professionals, you will undoubtedly succeed.
Neurology is a fascinating and ever-changing area of medicine that offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of your patients. I wish you all the best as you embark on this exciting new chapter in your medical career. And I have no doubt that you will emerge from your residency as a highly skilled and compassionate neurologist.

Program overview
Each week, residents will participate in case discussion and review. Monday mornings will consist of a resident-led case discussion. Tuesday afternoons will be reserved for epilepsy case conference. And Wednesday afternoons will be vascular conference. Friday afternoons will be didactics with Matthew Mercuri, MD. Residents will also take part in a monthly grand round.
Every fifth week will be a week-long continuity clinic. There, you’ll not only have general comprehensive neurology, you’ll also have subspecialty clinics in:
- Multiple sclerosis
- Headaches
- Epilepsy
- Movement disorders
- Neuromuscular and vascular conditions
