Program overview

As our Addiction Medicine fellow, you’ll gain experience in inpatient and outpatient settings, along with community-based clinics.

Thanks to our unique setting, which includes rural and urban areas, you’ll work with patients of all ages from diverse ethnic backgrounds who span all economic strata. In each of these venues, and with each population, you’ll learn how to explore the specifics of scientifically based problem-solving.

You’ll also have an elective rotation, which you’ll design in consultation with the program director to meet your specialty focus and learning goals. By the end of the program, you’ll be able to incorporate new and developing strategies — both pharmacologic and psychological — into your skill set and adapt as the field expands.

You’ll also pursue a variety of scholarly activities, including active participation in journal club, individual reading, conferences, didactic exercises and preparation of a poster or scientific paper.
