Interviews

Interviews for the anesthesiology residency will be granted by invitation only. During the interview process, you will receive an overview of the anesthesiology program and a facilities tour. You will also meet with several staff physicians and residents. The Geisinger Residents and Fellows Auxiliary can give local area tours for your family and friends. These tours must be scheduled through the residency program coordinator before your interview. Overnight accommodations are provided at the Pine Barn Inn, located at the entrance of Geisinger Medical Center's campus.

In looking for anesthesiology residency programs, Geisinger stood out to me for all the reasons my colleagues have already touched on. It is a rich environment, optimal for learning and choice experiences with diverse cases and patients. I knew Geisinger was where I could develop the talents and skills necessary to achieve my goals. I ultimately chose Geisinger, however, because it felt right for my family and myself. The location allows for greater camaraderie and friendships outside of the hospital system — playgroups for young children, excellent school districts and hundreds of people close by with similar circumstances as support for a spouse or partner. In coming to visit, I immediately knew it was the place my family and I would be happiest.”
