The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Geisinger Community Medical Center is an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) candidate status program. We have two pharmacy residency positions and participate in the ASHP Resident Matching Program and the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS). You’ll need to submit the following materials via PhORCAS:

  • Letter of intent outlining your career objectives and specific areas of interest
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Academic (school of pharmacy) transcripts
  • Three professional recommendations using standard PhORCAS document

Also required are a PharmD or equivalent degree (from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education accredited school or college). You must also be licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Licensure requirements are available at the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy website. Be sure you have the required number of intern hours before applying.

The yearly deadline for application is Jan. 1. The residency begins June 19, 2023, and ends June 30, 2024. Individual interviews are required, conducted virtually and scheduled by invitation. Applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received.
