Adriene Zook, PharmD
Pharmacy Manager, Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Programs
Dr. Zook is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, where she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2011. Upon graduation, Dr. Zook transitioned from a graduate extern to a licensed clinical pharmacist, ultimately working at Geisinger Montoursville Family Practice, where she began their MTDM services. Her practice grew, and she remained in this role for nearly nine years until taking the position of regional manager for ambulatory programs for the Geisinger Central Region. Dr. Zook remains in the pharmacy manager role but has oversight over the entire Family Practice Ambulatory Pharmacy Program and assists the clinical pharmacists embedded at the primary care locations with program growth and development, day-to-day workflow asks and requirements, and quality and data-tracking tasks. Through her role as a preceptor for the administration rotation, Dr. Zook can continue to capture her passion for education, not only for her providers and pharmacists, but for the pharmacy residents, too.
Benjamin Heikkinen, PharmD, BCIDP
Pharmacy Manager, Geisinger Medical Center Muncy
Dr. Heikkinen is a 2017 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy. After graduation, he completed a PGY-1 pharmacy residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. From there, Dr. Heikkinen completed a PGY-2 infectious diseases pharmacy residency at the University of Wisconsin Health. Following residency, he stayed on at UW-Health and practiced primarily in adult surgery, emergency medicine, HIV clinic and infectious diseases. In 2020, he transitioned into a new role as a neurology and neurocritical care pharmacist at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he assisted in the rollout of vancomycin AUC/MIC dosing and spearheaded the development and implementation of pharmacy renal dose adjustment guidelines. Dr. Heikkinen joined the Geisinger team in 2021 as a pharmacy manager and infectious diseases pharmacist to continue to pursue his passion for transitions of care, antimicrobial stewardship, PK/PD optimization and precepting/teaching students and residents. He serves as a preceptor for the inpatient internal medicine rotation.
Catherine Haupt, PharmD, BCACP

Dr. Catherine Haupt is a graduate of the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy at Wilkes University where she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2016. After graduation, she completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at the Veterans Affairs Hudson Valley Health Care System in Wappingers Falls, N.Y. Upon completion of residency, she accepted a position as an ambulatory pharmacist clinician at Lancaster General Health. There, she helped develop their ambulatory care program and added additional clinic sites to provide care to the people of Lancaster County. She joined Geisinger in 2018 as an ambulatory care pharmacist first at the Shamokin Specialty Clinic, transitioning to the Bloomsburg area in 2019. Her current practice is Geisinger Buckhorn Primary Care clinic; at her site, she manages chronic disease states and precepts pharmacy students. She is assistant director of the residency program and a preceptor for the primary care learning experience at Geisinger Buckhorn.
Corey Haupt, PharmD
Clinical Pharmacist, Pain Management and Behavioral Health
Dr. Haupt is a graduate of the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy at Wilkes University where he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2017. He has been working with Geisinger since graduation, starting as a chronic disease management pharmacist in Shamokin. In 2018, he started the outpatient Behavioral Health Pharmacy program out of Geisinger Medical Center and took over the Pain Management clinic in Danville. He combines the two areas of interest out of the Buckhorn Primary Care clinic in Bloomsburg and is the preceptor for the elective rotation in Behavioral Health and Chronic Pain Management.
Dana J. Achenbach, PharmD

Dr. Achenbach is a graduate of the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy at Wilkes University where she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2018. After graduation, she completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at Lebanon Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lebanon, Pa. Upon completion, she accepted a newly created position with Geisinger as an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist with the Gastroenterology department where she manages medications for patients with inflammatory bowel disease. She serves as the preceptor for the Gastroenterology elective.
Danielle M. Distefano, PharmD

Dr. Distefano is a graduate of the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy at Wilkes University where she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2018. After graduation, she completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at the Erie VA Medical Center. She accepted a position as an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist with Geisinger in 2019, working in the Woodbine Family Practice clinic. She will serve as a preceptor for the Primary Care learning experience.

Dr. Grassi graduated from Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy with his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2001 and is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist. He worked as a clinical pharmacy resident within the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare system. Dr. Grassi has been with Geisinger for 20 years as a staff clinical pharmacist, innovator and clinical research investigator with the Center for Pharmacy Innovation and Outcomes, helping to implement clinical pharmacy services in both the inpatient and ambulatory care settings. He has been involved with implementing some clinical services in internal medicine, special care, cardiology and geriatrics. Within ambulatory care, he was involved with implementing successful clinical services within the Comprehensive Care Clinic for Medically Complex Children, Neuroscience and Rheumatology. Dr. Grassi is working with his ambulatory team to develop the Rheumatology clinical pharmacy service with disease co-management, medication education, building a successful transition process for patients on specialty/biologic medications to home infusion, enhancing a clinical process for specialty osteoporosis medications, modifying the refill process within specialty and piloting the new precertification process for specialty medications with the Central Medication Hub. He’s been implementing clinical pharmacy services, quality improvement, care path analysis and use of innovation tools within his practice. Dr. Grassi is a co-author on several publications, abstracts, poster presentations and podium presentations at the national level. He and his teams have received several research awards, including the ASHP National Foundation Award for the Innovation in Pharmacy Practice in 2018. He is also a member of the Residency Advisory Committee and preceptor for the PGY-1 acute care program and APPE students. He serves as the preceptor for the Rheumatology elective rotation.
Jarod R Schreiber, PharmD

Dr. Schreiber is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Pharmacy where he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2001. Upon graduation, he served as a retail pharmacist first with CVS and then for Wegmans. During his 20-year tenure at Wegmans, he oversaw pharmacy acquisitions and high-volume dispensing and was the PIC for the last 12 years of his employment. Dr. Schreiber joined the Geisinger team in 2022 as Pharmacy Manager for the outpatient retail pharmacy at Geisinger Medical Center Muncy.
Jennifer Fever, PharmD, BCACP

Dr. Fever is a 2017 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. After graduation, Dr. Fever completed a PGY-1 pharmacy residency focused on ambulatory care at Auburn University in Alabama and a PGY-2 residency in ambulatory care with UW Health in Wisconsin. Following residency, she was a clinical pharmacy specialist in the digestive health center at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, assisting in the management of patients with inflammatory bowel disease. In 2021, she joined Geisinger as an ambulatory clinical pharmacist, reuniting her with her passion for primary care. She is the director of the residency program and a preceptor for the primary care learning experience at Geisinger Medical Center Muncy.

Dr. Webster is a 1997 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, a 2019 graduate of the University of Scranton Kania School of Management and a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. She practiced as a clinical pharmacist in Geisinger's MTDM Clinics for 15 years before moving into an administrative role within the program for the past seven years. Her responsibilities include oversight of Geisinger's MTDM programs and Telepharmacy Refill Call Center. Geisinger’s MTDM Program includes 86 clinical pharmacists embedded within 64 primary care and specialty clinic locations who manage chronic disease under a collaborative practice agreement with the providers. The Telepharmacy Refill Call Center includes 33 pharmacists and 63 technicians who manage all refill requests and medication-related electronic communication within the health system (about 89,000 encounters per month). Geisinger’s clinical pharmacist collaborative practice model provides patients with acute and chronic disease management of multiple chronic disease states including, but not limited to, anticoagulation, diabetes, heart failure, COPD, pain management, neurology/MS, oral chemotherapy, rheumatology, hepatitis C, transplant, endocrinology, dermatology and a home-based medical care program – Geisinger at Home.
Maura K. Frasch, PharmD
Clinical Pharmacist, Geriatric Care
Dr. Frasch is a graduate of Marshall University in Huntington, W.V., where she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2019. After graduation, she accepted a position as a clinical pharmacist at Geisinger Shamokin’s Specialty Care Clinic where she precepted PharmD students for the ambulatory care rotation. Dr. Frasch transitioned roles in 2022 and now serves as the pharmacist at Geisinger 65 Forward in Coal Township. Her areas of interest include geriatrics, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and anticoagulation. She serves as a preceptor for the Geriatrics Care elective rotation.
Nathan Sauers, PharmD
Clinical Pharmacist, Cardiology
Dr. Sauers is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy where he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy in 1999. After graduation, he joined the inpatient pharmacy staff at Geisinger Medical Center. In 2001, he transitioned to the anticoagulation clinic where he served as a preceptor for pharmacy students and PGY-1 residents. In 2013, he moved to the cardiology clinic where he focuses on managing heart failure, hyperlipidemia and anticoagulation. Dr. Sauers serves as the preceptor for the elective rotation in cardiology.
Ryley Uber, PharmD
Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacogenomics
Dr. Uber graduated from Cedarville University School of Pharmacy with his Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2018. Upon graduation, he began a two-year fellowship in clinical pharmacogenomics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. During fellowship, he ran the pharmacogenomics testing service for the cardiac catheterization laboratory and conducted clinical research, including clinical service outcomes and machine learning development. Prior to fellowship completion, he accepted his current position at Geisinger in 2020. In this position, Dr. Uber’s time is split between pharmacogenomics research and implementation throughout the health system. Dr. Uber is a preceptor for the pharmacogenomics learning experience.
Stacey Grassi, PharmD, CACP
Assistant Director, Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Programs
Dr. Grassi is a graduate of Nesbitt School of Pharmacy at Wilkes University, where she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2002. She completed a PGY-1 pharmacy residency at Geisinger Medical Center in 2003. After residency, she accepted a position as a clinical pharmacist at Geisinger, where she practiced in the areas of general internal medicine, nephrology, hematology and oncology and ambulatory anticoagulation. In 2013, she accepted the position of regional coordinator of ambulatory clinical pharmacy programs for Geisinger’s Central Region. In 2016, she was promoted to assistant director for the programs. Her oversight included anticoagulation, diabetes, hypertension, lipids, heart failure, asthma, COPD, pain therapy, addiction medicine, hepatitis C, IBD, transplant and anemia in CKD and pregnancy. In 2021, she took on a systemwide role as assistant director of ambulatory clinical pharmacy programs, with oversight of all family practice clinics in the Geisinger system. She also serves as an administrative preceptor for the PGY-1/PGY-2 HSPAL Pharmacy Residency Program. She is an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy at Wilkes University. Dr. Grassi is a preceptor for the administration learning experience.
