Research Interests
My current research interests focus on early screening and identification of children with autism. While research has emphasized that early identification of autism is integral to facilitate services, the average age of diagnosis of ASD is well beyond the age at which it can be accurately diagnosed. A variety of screening measures have emerged to identify children at risk for autism, but much work still needs to be done to make ensure that these measures are fully identifying children who need autism evaluations, without over-identifying children who do not have an autism spectrum disorder. Our screening measures need to accurately and efficiently identify and differentiate between children with autism, children with developmental delays, and children with behavioral disorders.
