Research Interests

Dr. Romagnoli completed her secondary education at the University of Pittsburgh: a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, a master’s in library and information sciences and a master’s and PhD from the Department of Biomedical Informatics in the School of Medicine. Her research focuses on using human-centered design research and methodologies to inform the design and implementation of clinical informatics tools. After her PhD, she worked at UPMC Health Plan as a manager of design research, using human-centered design research to inform digital products for health plan members and stakeholders. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Translational Data Science and Informatics. Her primary research interests are using human-centered design and mixed methods research to identify areas of opportunity for innovation in clinical care, focusing on genomic medicine and pharmacy.
