About Dr. Jennifer Sidari

Jennifer Sidari was a member of the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine’s Class of 2013. Her love of travel and learning took her to many places around the world, seeking knowledge and fulfilling her goal to help others.

Locally, Jennifer volunteered at clinics in Scranton and at the Care and Concern Clinic in Pittston. She also participated as a medical volunteer at a pediatric clinic in Haiti in the spring of 2013 and had taken trips to South Africa and Oakland, Calif., to work with HIV-infected children and study pediatric infectious diseases. She was to begin her residency training in pediatrics at the Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital in Danville in June 2013.

Just weeks after Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine celebrated its first MD commencement ceremony, Jennifer passed away unexpectedly. A tremendous void was left where her extraordinary talent, passion and ambition should have been.

The Jennifer A. Sidari, MD ’13 Global Health Scholarship Award and the Jennifer A. Sidari, MD ’13 Global Health Enrichment Award were established in her memory to provide an educational stipend to students interested in serving as medical volunteers abroad and to leave a legacy of a life well-lived.
