Service opportunities

What better way to support our communities than through service? Geisinger College School of Health Sciences has embedded service to community in its MD curricula in our Systems, Society and Humanism in Medicine core, and specifically in the longitudinal Community Immersion theme. You’ll work with community-based organizations and initiatives to address social determinants of health; practice cultural, structural and narrative humility; and improve the community’s overall health by improving quality of life.

Your medical education is enhanced through meaningful service-learning experiences that address community needs and build relationships with our community members, leaders and organizations.

At the beginning of each academic year, you’ll learn about community needs and area service organizations. You’ll have the flexibility to choose your own service projects and organizations.
