Dr. Alkhaled earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University. He completed his PGY1 pharmacy residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center prior to completing his PGY2 oncology pharmacy residency at Geisinger.

Erin Eickman, PharmD (2022-2023)

Dr. Eickman earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency at St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System prior to completing her PGY2 oncology pharmacy residency at Geisinger.

Gwen Hua, PharmD (2021-2022)

Dr. Hua earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Virginia and her Doctor of Pharmacy from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency at Riverside Regional Medical Center prior to completing her PGY2 oncology pharmacy residency at Geisinger. Her clinical interests include hematologic malignancies and bone marrow transplant.

Michael Hardler, PharmD (2021-2022)

Dr. Hardler earned his bachelor’s in biology at Bloomsburg University of PA in 2016 before moving to NC where he attended High Point University’s School of Pharmacy. He completed his PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Mercy Medical Center, part of Trinity Health in Springfield MA before returning to PA for his PGY2 in Oncology at Geisinger Medical Center. Following graduation, Michael joined the Hematology/Oncology team at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, as an inpatient clinical pharmacist. He currently rotates between malignant hematology, stem cell transplant, and the solid tumors services. He is an active member of Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA), serving on the Leadership Subcommittee, and of the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT).

Kayla Hart, PharmD, BCOP (2020-2021)

Dr. Hart earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University Wilkes School of Pharmacy in 2017. She completed her PGY1 training in 2018 and her PGY2 Oncology training in 2019, both at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Dr. Hart has been integral in starting a neuro-oncology focused MTM oral chemotherapy clinic and was promoted to Assistant Director of the PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency Program at Geisinger. Her professional interests including solid tumors and neuro-oncology.

Brandon Soltesz, PharmD (2020-2021)

Dr. Soltesz earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Findlay in 2019. He completed his PGY1 training at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and his PGY2 oncology residency at Geisinger Medical Center. His professional interests include ambulatory solid tumor and oral oncolytic management.

Grant Lee, PharmD, BCOP (2019-2020)

Dr. Lee earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 2018. He completed his PGY1 pharmacy residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center before completing his PGY2 oncology residency at Geisinger Medical Center. Grant now works as an outpatient oncology pharmacist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he primarily serves patients by counseling them on their new chemotherapy regimens and following up for toxicity management. Grant is also involved in the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA), where he serves on the Patient Education Committee.

Dennis Marjoncu, PharmD, BCOP (2018-2019)

Dr. Marjoncu earned his Bachelor of Science in pharmaceutical and healthcare studies in 2015 as well as his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at University of the Sciences in 2017. He completed both his PGY1 pharmacy and PGY2 oncology pharmacy residency at Geisinger Medical Center. Upon completion of his residencies, he accepted a position at Methodist University Hospital as a hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) clinical pharmacist and is currently working to develop the system’s medical oncology program. Dr. Marjoncu currently precepts students and residents, rotating between the HCT service and the outpatient medical oncology clinic. He serves on the antimicrobial stewardship committee and as the secretary for the oncology P&T committee and is involved in the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA), American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT), and the Tennessee Pharmacy Association Legislative Committee. Dr. Marjoncu is also an adjunct faculty for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy, giving lectures in various malignancies.

Anupama Divakaruni Mathur, PharmD, BCOP (2017-2018)

Dr. Mathur earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2011 and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 2016. She completed both her PGY1 pharmacy residency and PGY2 oncology pharmacy residency at Geisinger Medical Center. Upon completion of her residencies, she accepted a position at Geisinger Cancer Institute in the oral chemotherapy clinic. Dr. Mathur is involved in the residency advisory committee for the PGY2 residency program, as well as the residency recruitment subcommittee. Dr. Mathur's professional interests include targeted oncolytic therapies, oral oncolytic management and delivery, medication safety and medication therapy management.

Dr. Maiers graduated from Ohio Northern University, Raabe College of Pharmacy in Ada, OH, in 2015. He completed both his PGY1 pharmacy residency and PGY2 oncology pharmacy residency at Geisinger Medical Center. Upon completion of his residencies, he accepted a position at Geisinger Medical Center as a hematology/oncology clinical pharmacist. Recently, he transitioned from Assistant Director then Director for the PGY2 Oncology Residency Program at Geisinger. Professional interests include lung cancer, adult sarcomas, and leadership development. He is actively involved with the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association and provides lectures to students at Wilkes University.

Dr. Karkowski earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2014 from the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy. Dr. Karkowski then completed a pharmacy practice residency at Providence St. Peter Medical Center followed by an oncology specialty residency at Geisinger Medical Center. She joined the team at Dartmouth Health in August 2016. There, her primary responsibilities include advancing clinical pharmacy services within the Dartmouth Cancer Center, serving as co-chair of the hematology/oncology P&T subcommittee, precepting students and residents, and working as a clinical staff pharmacist on the inpatient hematology unit.

Sarah Brinley, PharmD, BCOP (2014-2015)

Dr. Brinley earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh in 2011 and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy in 2013. She completed both a PGY1 pharmacy residency and a PGY2 oncology pharmacy residency at Geisinger Medical Center. Upon completion of her residencies, she accepted a position at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where her practice focuses on multiple myeloma, lymphoma, and autologous stem cell transplant as well as precepting both students and residents. Her professional interests include hematology, oncology, critical care and teaching.

David A. Kaland, PharmD, BCOP (2013-2014)

Dr. Kaland earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005. He then received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 2012. He completed his first year of post graduate residency training at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in the greater Boston area and his second year in oncology pharmacy at Geisinger Medical Center. After residency, he was a clinical oncology pharmacy specialist at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA, and adjunct faculty at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. David then worked as a clinical oncology pharmacist at the U.S. Army Hospital, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, in Landstuhl, Germany. Dr. Kaland is an oncology safety evaluator for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Division of Pharmacovigilance.

Dr. Carmichael earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 2009. She graduated from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in Tucson in 2011. She completed her PGY1 at the Sierra Nevada VA Health Care System in Reno, and her PGY2 in oncology at Geisinger Medical Center. After graduation, she stayed with Geisinger for five years, running the successful Oral Chemotherapy Medication Therapy Management Program. She was also the residency program director for three years. She now uses her skills as a Holistic Oncology Pharmacist and Health Coach working with patients on the cancer journey and running her own consultant business. She’s also an oncology consultant and health coach for a tech company with an app focused on helping patients and pharmacists connect virtually, ImpactPharm.
